How do I know if my child’s class is still open today?
CPCD will contact local TV and Radio if we close ALL classes and the Central Office for the day.
If the school district that your child’s preschool class is located in, does not delay or close then most likely the preschool class will be open.
If the district is delayed, then the morning preschool class will be canceled and the afternoon class will open on time.
If the district closes, then both morning and afternoon preschool classes will be canceled.
There are of course exceptions. A good example would be in cases where bad weather comes later in the morning. In this case, CPCD may release morning classes early and cancel afternoon classes even though your school district remains open all day.
CPCD will cancel Policy Council, Parent Center Meetings and Workshops, based on weather reports and road conditions and whether it is safe to hold the meeting/training. If the event is canceled then parents will be notified. In most cases, if your child’s class was canceled that day, then the evening event will also be canceled.
It is important that you provide your teacher with a reliable phone number so he/she can contact you in the event that classes are canceled early. This will assure the children get home in a timely manner.
